Designing Conversion at Cultural Scale
SoFi is an all-in-one financial services platform operating at national scale. I currently lead creative direction for its App Store presence, shaping how millions of prospective users encounter the brand at the most critical conversion surface: before download.
This engagement focuses on elevating clarity, strengthening visual authority, and aligning product storytelling with measurable acquisition performance. The work is ongoing — continuously refined through iteration, testing, and cross-functional collaboration.
The App Store environment is compressed, competitive, and conversion-driven. Within a limited sequence of frames, the brand must establish trust, communicate value, and differentiate itself in a saturated fintech landscape.
At the same time, financial services demand rigorous compliance standards. Legal and regulatory language is essential — but when misbalanced, it can disrupt narrative flow and dilute persuasive momentum.
The challenge is to harmonize authority with aspiration. To maintain compliance without sacrificing clarity. To design for both regulation and resonance.
MY ROLE
I serve as Lead Designer for SoFi’s App Store optimization initiatives with NP Digital.
My responsibility extends beyond visual refinement — I operate at the intersection of brand, growth, and compliance. This includes close collaboration with legal and regulatory stakeholders to ensure that every visual evolution strengthens hierarchy while remaining defensible. Rather than treating compliance as a constraint, I integrate it as part of the design architecture.
The objective is not aesthetic refreshment. It is conversion engineering.
The guiding principle is simple: reduce friction, amplify value.
I design each screenshot sequence as a structured narrative — guiding the viewer through product breadth, ease of use, and financial empowerment in a clear progression. Messaging is refined to emphasize tangible benefits while setting accurate expectations for the in-app experience.
Legal requirements are carefully consolidated and repositioned where appropriate, allowing the primary value propositions to lead without interruption. The result is increased negative space, stronger typographic hierarchy, and a more confident visual rhythm.
Every iteration is informed by performance data and platform best practices.
